What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Discover and MasterCard at all locations except the popcorn wagon. We also accept travellers checks but no personal checks. We still accept cash. There is an ATM located on property.
Do you allow pets into Clark's Trading Post?
We only allow service animals inside the grounds. We recommend a doggie daycare located about one mile from the Trading Post called, One Dog Day 603-745-8259. You should call ahead and make reservations.
What is the best time of the day to arrive?
Generally first thing in the morning is not as busy for rides such as the Blaster boats, climbing tower or Segway park. It is also a good idea to go to the photo parlor first thing to sign up to have your picture taken.
When are the best days to visit?
Mondays and Fridays are generally the slowest days of the week. Also there are less visitors in the Spring and Fall (other than the holiday weekends.) Rainy days are also a great day to visit because all rides and shows operate with the exception of the Climbing Tower.
What are the restrictions on your rides?
Where can I get more information about the locomotives?
If you visit www.whitemountaincentralrr.com you will be able to find many details about all the locomotives and other rolling stock.
Do you offer any discounts for admission to Clark's?
We offer a group discount for 15 or more people. Single payment required on group arrival.
We offer a $2 discount for anyone 65 or older. Please ask for senior rate when purchasing tickets.
We offer a military discount for active and retired members of the armed forces and their families. Please present your military ID for $2 off each ticket.
I'm sorry we do not offer a AAA discount.
What happens if it rains?
During light rain all rides and shows proceed as usual. During heavier rain the climbing tower and possibly the Segway Park will close. During thunder and lighting storms the bumper boats, climbing tower and Segways will suspend rides for 10 minutes after the last lightning has been seen. During extreme weather if a bear show, train ride or circus show needs to be cancelled, a rain check will be offered. We do not refund admissions.
If I see the entire bear show, will I miss the train ride?
Our bear & circus shows are coordinated with the train rides. The shows will not start until the train gets back and the train will not leave until the show lets out.
My child has a peanut allergy. Do you have peanuts at Clark's?
Yes. There are shelled and candy coated peanuts in the Main Gift Shop at the candy counter and at the popcorn wagon. The bears are given peanuts in the shell as a treat. The Whistle Stop Snack Bar also offers Peanut Butter and jelly sandwiches. Pullman's Lunch offers packaged peanut butter crackers. Occasionally, the Peppermint Saloon will offer an ice cream choice with peanuts. Food choices can change throughout the year at any location. For highly allergic guests you may want to check with the food services that day to be certain. Each food service location at Clark's has an ingredients list for each item served for your convenience.
Do you have wheelchairs or strollers I can use?
Yes. We have dozens of strollers for your use at no charge. Our only request is that you do not bring them into the parking lot or Main Gift Shop. We have a few wheelchairs for guests to use if needed. They are on a first come, first served basis.
What if we need first aid assistance?
We have a first aid room located between the Riverbank Restrooms and the picnic pavilion. Although we have a paramedic on staff, he is not necessarily in the first aid room at all times. You should ask any employee for assistance for first aid. There is an AED located in the Railroad Station.
Do you allow smoking at Clark's?
We allow cigarette smoking in designated smoking areas only.
Do you recycle at Clark's?
Yes we do! You will find blue recycling containers all around the grounds for glass and plastic bottles. Our show bear Echo even sets a good example by showing guests how to recylce.
